Which Gown Length?

There is no substitute for a good night’s sleep.

Our health as well as our disposition both is at stake. Good designers know the importance of creating gowns for various body types and to also meet physical needs. Understanding the designers’ terminology is the key to finding your perfect nightgown whether searching on line or in your local brick and mortar.

Different styles of gowns:

• Babydolls are short tops usually to the waist or crotch with coordinating panties or bottoms.

• A chemise is a very short gown which falls above the knee.

• Short gowns will reach the knee or slightly below

• Ballerina length falls mid-calf.

• A full length gown is designed to drop to the ankle and in some cases all the way to the floor.

A night shirt differs from a gown by being cut relatively straight up and down. It is more like an oversized t-shirt. The nightgown provides for more fullness in the body and can allow for more body movement. Drop shoulder designs allow for additional upper body movement. Assorted sleeve lengths provide for desired comfort as well as help control body temperature.

The perfect nightgown can be an important factor in summer survival. Make your choices count.
